Shock Index CalculatorCanineFeline
Calculate shock index for dogs and cats. The shock index is the ratio of heart rate to systolic blood pressure, used as a rapid bedside indicator of hemodynamic instability. A normal shock index in dogs is below 0.8, while values above 1.0 are consistent with shock. Used for emergency triage, trauma assessment, detecting occult hemorrhagic shock, monitoring hemodynamic status, and identifying patients needing aggressive fluid resuscitation. Common query: 'is my patient in shock' or 'shock index calculation'.
