Phenobarbital Therapeutic Drug MonitoringCanineFeline

Phenobarbital dose adjustment calculator for epilepsy management in dogs and cats. Uses proportional dose adjustment formula: New Dose = Current Dose × (Target Level / Current Level). Therapeutic ranges: dogs 15–35 µg/mL, cats 10–30 µg/mL. Serum levels should be checked 2–3 weeks after initiation or dose change, then every 6–12 months. Levels >35 µg/mL increase risk of hepatotoxicity and sedation. Used for seizure management, antiepileptic drug dosing, phenobarbital level interpretation, epilepsy dose adjustment, and therapeutic drug monitoring. Common queries: 'phenobarbital dose adjustment for a dog' or 'phenobarb level is 40 in my cat'.
