Echocardiogram Reference Range CalculatorCanineFeline

Evaluate echocardiographic M-mode measurements against species-specific reference ranges for dogs and cats. For dogs, uses allometric scaling based on the Cornell et al. (2004) study to generate weight-dependent prediction intervals for LVIDd, LVIDs, IVSd, IVSs, LVPWd, and LVPWs. For cats, uses population-based reference intervals from large breed studies. Also evaluates fractional shortening (FS%), ejection fraction (EF%), and left atrial-to-aortic root ratio (LA/Ao). Determines whether measured values fall within normal, borderline, or abnormal ranges. Used for cardiac assessment, cardiomyopathy screening (DCM, HCM), mitral valve disease staging, pre-anesthetic cardiac evaluation, and monitoring cardiac remodeling. Common queries: 'normal echo values for dog', 'echocardiogram reference ranges cat', 'LVIDd normal range', 'fractional shortening interpretation'.
