Assess body condition score (BCS) in dogs and cats using a standardized 9-point scale. Evaluates rib palpation, waist visibility, abdominal tuck, and fat deposits to determine if a pet is underweight, ideal weight, overweight, or obese. Used for nutritional assessment, weight management programs, obesity evaluation, body fat estimation, diet planning, and monitoring weight loss or gain progress in veterinary patients. Each BCS point above 5 represents approximately 10% excess body weight.
