Aspirin Toxicity CalculatorCanineFeline
Calculate aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid, ASA) toxicity risk in dogs and cats. Estimates total salicylate dose in mg/kg based on tablet strength and number ingested. CRITICAL: cats are extremely sensitive due to deficient glycine conjugation — aspirin half-life is 37.5 hours in cats vs 7.5 hours in dogs. ANY dose of aspirin can be toxic to cats. In dogs, therapeutic doses are 10–25 mg/kg, GI signs above 50 mg/kg, and severe toxicosis above 100 mg/kg. Covers baby aspirin 81 mg, regular 325 mg, extra strength 500 mg, and enteric coated tablets. Used for salicylate toxicology assessment, aspirin ingestion emergencies, and NSAID poisoning triage. Common queries: 'my dog ate aspirin', 'cat ate baby aspirin', 'dog ingested aspirin tablets'.
